11/8/2024 10:00:00 AM

BOSTONFollowing the conclusion of the 2024 season, the UMass Lowell men's soccer team had three River Hawks tabbed with  All-Conference honors, as announced by the conference office on Friday morning.

Freshman Matteo Costa (Frankfurt am Main, Germany) was named to the America East All-Rookie team, while graduate student Guillermo Francés Poquet (Enguera, Valencia) and senior Yanis Lakhlifi (La Crau, France) were each named to the conference's All-Academic Team.

Costa made his impact on the program immediately, starting in the first game of the season before tallying his first career point on an assist in the team's win over CCSU only three days later. Throughout the season, the Germany native proved to be a mainstay in the team's lineup, starting in 15 of UMass Lowell's 16 games while averaging 68 minutes per match.

For his efforts both on and off the pitch, Francés Poquet was named to his third straight All-Academic Team. As a graduate student, he posted a 3.738 GPA,
while ranking second on the team with eight points in 14 games. Recognized for his work in the classroom, Francés Poquet has also been tabbed to the Dean's List six times.

Meanwhile, being named to the All-Academic team for the first time, Lakhlifi owns a 3.755 GPA as an economics major while leading his squad with five goals and 11 points. In his two years as a River Hawk, the senior has been named to the Dean's List every semester.
