LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell ice hockey head coach,
Norm Bazin, has announced the promotion of Kolby "Red" Green to Director of Hockey Operations and Video Analysis.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kolby as our new Director of Hockey Operations and Video Analysis," said Bazin. "With an exceptional track record in player analytics and strategic insight, he brings a wealth of video experience and passion for the game that will accelerate our players' development to new heights. We are excited to see him transition from the professional working world back into college hockey. We can't wait to watch how he can further assist our players in accessing all their information so they can reach their potential."
Green will take on this new role in addition to his video analysis responsibilities, after becoming the Director of Hockey Analytics and Video in the fall of 2022. In the new role, he will continue to develop opposing team systems, track league/team stats and assist staff with analytic information that provides a benefit to the team, but with the addition of Hockey Operations responsibilities, he will be the liaison for team travel and schedule, a messenger between players and coaching staff, as well as coordinate day to day operations.
He served as the Hockey Analytics and Video Assistant from 2019-2022 during his time as a student at UMass Lowell, assisting the video coach with preparing analytic sheets for the coaching staff, as well as helping to prescout opponents and break down film. From 2018-2019, he served as the team's student equipment manager, assisting with preparing the locker room on game days, as well as other miscellaneous tasks.
Green graduated from UMass Lowell in December of 2022, earning a bachelor's degree in civil & environmental engineering.
