LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's soccer team (1-7-2, 0-1-0 AE) will head north to take on Maine (6-1-2, 2-0-0 AE) at Mahaney Diamond on Thursday, October 3 at 6 p.m. before traveling to New York to face UAlbany (1-8-1, 0-1-1 AE) on Sunday, October 6 at 4 p.m. on Bob Ford Field.

Looking at UMass Lowell
The River Hawks competed in one game this past week, taking on America East foe UMBC, but falling 2-1. Junior Hilary Jaén scored her first goal as a River Hawk with assists from graduate student

Scouting the Black Bears
Maine had one contest last week, facing off against America East opponent Vermont and grabbing the 3-2 win. The Black Bears' goal scorers for the day were Julie Lossius, Kristina Kelly and Jordane Pinette. Maine took 19 shots with nine being on target compared to Vermont's eight total shots. Jessica Kasacek was in net and made two saves.
So far, Maine has totaled 16 goals, averaging 1.78 goals per game. Pinette is the offensive leader for the Black Bears, recording 10 points on four goals and two assists. Kelly, Lara Kirkby and Abby Kraemer are right behind with eight points apiece.
Kasacek has started in eight contests in goal, totaling three shutout victories on five wins. This Black Bear has 16 saves, earning a .667 save percentage.

Rodgers totals 569 minutes with four shots, with Girgis records 317 minutes and 10 shots, with a couple of close opportunities in the UMBC match.
