Baseball Announces 2024 Schedule

1/22/2024 11:00:00 AM

LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell baseball head coach Nick Barese has announced the 2024 slate. The River Hawks kick off the season with a 15-game road trip, starting on February 16 at High Point University.

"It's always great to get out and see the best level of competition possible, and that's what we feel we have in our schedule this season," said Barese. "For guys who want to win a championship and play a regional series at that level, these are the teams you're going to see. That said, we really try to stress it doesn't matter who you are playing, at this level it's really hard to win every single day. We want to make sure we're competing, putting in the effort, and competing every day to be successful."

UMass Lowell will play High Point in a doubleheader on February 17 and close out the weekend with an afternoon tilt on February 18. The month ends with a three-game series at William & Mary.

March is an action-packed month for the River Hawks, who will visit Kansas State for a weekend series (Mar. 1- Mar. 3), two games at Creighton (Mar. 5 - Mar. 6) and finish the trip at Oral Roberts (Mar. 8 - Mar.10) for a three-game series.

The home slate opens with a midweek matchup against Rhode Island on March 13 at LeLacheur Park before the River Hawks hit the road again for three games at Penn State (Mar. 15 - Mar.17). UMass Lowell returns to Massachusetts to visit Holy Cross on Wednesday March 20.

Conference play begins in late March as UAlbany comes to Lowell for a three-game series starting March 22. After short trip to Fairfield on March 26, the River Hawks visit NJIT at the end of the month for the first league road trip of the season.

Home games against Dartmouth and Stonehill open the month of April before a weekend trip to Binghamton. The River Hawks return home to host Merrimack for a midweek matchup and Maine at the weekend before a visit to Merrimack the following week.

Away games at Bryant and Harvard close out the five-game road swing. UMBC comes to town March 26 for a weekend series before a trip to Boston College closes out April. After opening May at UAlbany and Massachusetts, UMass Lowell returns home to host NJIT, Northeastern and Marist.

The America East Championship is set for May 21-25 at the Bearcats Sports Complex in Vestal, New York.
