Rayne Durant (New Haven, Conn.) earned her first career weekly award after being named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
The first year averaged 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals per game in a 2-0 week for the River Hawks. Durant recorded her first career double-double in UMass Lowell's 59-46 win over UMBC with a career-high 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Durant added 14 points and nine rebounds with three assists and three steals in a thrilling 70-67 win over NJIT on the road on Thursday, January 11. The New Haven native shot 6-13 against the Highlanders and 7-15 against the Retrievers.
She currently leads the team River Hawks with 15 blocks on the season and is second in the squad with 92 total rebounds.
This is Durant's first conference weekly award of her career.
