LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
UMass Lowell will look to earn its first win of the season after starting with an 0-3-3 record. Sunday's contest against Holy Cross was cut short after just 33 minutes of game action due to weather in the area. The River Hawks have goals from
Calliste Brookshire,
Luka Marceau,
Julia Edholm and
Hope Santaniello this season.
Taylor Burgess has been sharp in net, making 38 saves in six starts.
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth is off to a great start to the season with a 5-0-2 record. The Big Green have draws against Eastern Michigan and Boston College while all four wins this year have been 1-0 score lines. The Big Green defeated Iona 4-0 on Wednesday night. Dartmouth's defense has been strong so far with five clean sheets and three goals against in seven games. Four players are tied for the team lead with two goals apiece while three other players have found the back of the net. Emily Hardy has started all six games this season and has a 5-0-2 record with 32 saves. Hardy has a goals against average of 0.43 with a .914 save percentage.
MATCHUP HISTORY
The River Hawks earned their first win over Dartmouth last season behind a three-goal comeback led by
Julia Edholm's brace and
Anna Edson's winner. UMass Lowell is 1-5 against the Big Green since 2013.
FIRSTS IN BLUE & WHITE
Several newcomers have tallied their first points as River Hawks this season. Junior
Hope Santaniello has created many great chances and scored her first goal in blue and white against Stonehill, a late equalizer to help earn a draw.
Luka Marceau and
Diana Jedrychowski have also tallied their first points of their collegiate careers with a goal and assist, respectively.
VETERAN CORE
Taylor Burgess has looked sharp between the posts for the River Hawks this season. The redshirt senior has made 38 saves in six games, including several highlight-reel stops. Burgess has come up with timely saves to keep the River Hawks in games this season and helped them earn three draws to this point.
Calliste Brookshire has two goals on the year and will look to add to her tally on Sunday. UMass Lowell will look to the captain up front to lead the line while relying on
Julia Edholm,
Allison LeBlanc and
Emma Mitchell to lead the defensive unit.
