LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Cross Country Head Coach
Gary Gardner announced the program's official fall schedule on Wednesday afternoon.
"We are pleased with our schedule for the fall," said Gardner. "Early in the season, we have stuck with our traditional meets."
The season will kick off up north at the Vermont Dual Meet on Saturday, Sept. 2 against the Catamounts. The squad will then have a two week break before traveling to North Dartmouth, Mass. for the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16.
The month of September concludes with both the Coast to Coast Invitational at Boston's Franklin Park on the 22nd and the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh on Saturday, Sept. 30.
"The first real test will be the Paul Short Invitational at the end of September," said Gardner.
October will see some fierce competition, beginning with the New England Championships at Franklin Park on Saturday, Oct. 7. One week later, the squad will head down to the University of Virginia for a tough test at the Pre-National Invitational.
"We are also returning to the Pre-National Meet in the middle of October for the first time in a few years," said Gardner. "That will be a great experience and prepare us for the America East Championships and NCAA Regionals."
The team will compete at the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, Oct. 20 at Central Connecticut State before going for a fourth consecutive conference title at the 2023 America East Cross Country Championship hosted by Maine on Oct. 27.
The NCAA Northeast Regional Meet is set for Friday, Nov. 10 hosted by Columbia at Van Cortlandt Park where runners will aim to qualify for the NCAA Championships hosted by Virginia on Saturday, Nov. 18.
