Box Score LOWELL, Mass. –  Junior Megan Brockbank (Bayport, N.Y.) totaled two goals and an assist as the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (6-6) fell to the Dartmouth Big Green (3-7), 16-7, on Tuesday evening at Cushing Field.

Freshman Audra Hansen (Stamford, Conn.) was all over the box score, tallying two goals, two ground balls and a caused turnover. Freshman Grace Lydon (Rowley, Mass.) scored her third goal of the season, while senior Grace Hansen (Stamford, Conn.) and sophomore Jade Catlin (Middletown, Md.) chipped in with a goal each. In net, freshman Hannah Shaddock made 13 saves on the night.

The Big Green got on the board first, jumping in front with back-to-back goals in the first two minutes of play. UMass Lowell's defense quickly fought back, fighting off multiple from the Dartmouth offense for six minutes of play. Although the visitors added a third goal with 7:42 on the clock, it didn't take long for the River Hawks to retaliate, as Audra Hansen found the back of the net to make it a two-goal game. Dartmouth, however, added two more goals to make it 5-1 after one.

In the second quarter, UMass Lowell struck first as Brockbank dished a pass to Grace Hansen in front of the net, setting her up for her first goal of the evening. Dartmouth didn't take long to respond, tallying a goal only a minute later to pull ahead by four. The Big Green continued their scoring stretch, adding six more to take a 12-2 lead into halftime.

Out of the break, the River Hawks' offense went straight to work as Lydon fired a shot past the keeper, her third goal of the season, to cut into the lead. With momentum swinging in their favor, UMass Lowell continued to pick up the pace and control possession before Catlin spun around a defender and shot a rocket into the corner of the net. Moments later, Brockbank added her first goal, cutting Dartmouth's lead down to 12-5. Both teams followed with scoreless defense for over four minutes, but two more goals from the Big Green extended their lead heading into the fourth.

The River Hawks continued to fight in the fourth, staying even, 2-2, with Dartmouth in the final quarter. However, the River Hawks could not pull off a comeback, falling to Dartmouth, 16-7.

Next, the River Hawks will hit the road to take on UMBC at UMBC Stadium on Saturday, April 15, at noon.
