SERIES HISTORY

UMass Lowell and James Madison have met once before for a weekend series in 2018. The Dukes took the first two games on the series before the River Hawks won the finale 7-6 in Harrisonburg.

LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks enter the weekend series after going 0-3 last weekend against Florida Gulf Coast. Graduate student Gerry Siracusa (Kinnelon, N.J.) led the team with five hits on the weekend, with three runs and one RBI. Senior Robert Gallagher (Mullica Hill, N.J.) had four hits in 13 plate appearances over the weekend while sophomore Conor Kelly (Hopkinton, Mass.) had two runs and two hits with one RBI in seven at bats over three games. Junior Fritz Genther (Kingston, N.Y.) hit the team's first homerun of the year; a three-run shot in game two. Five other River Hawks recorded a hit as the offense has started to string together hits.

SCOUTING THE DUKES
James Madison welcomes UMass Lowell after defeating George Washington 10-8 on Tuesday afternoon to extend their win streak to five games. Fenwick Trimble has gotten off to a great start batting .500 in eight games with team-highs in runs (10), hits (15), doubles (5), home runs (3), RBIs (16) and total bases (29). The offense does not rely just on Trimble, with five other players recording at least five hits and five runs to start the season. On the mound, Saturday's starter Ryan Murphy is 1-0 in two starts with a 2.25 ERA. He's struck out three and allowed five hits and two earned runs. Friday starter Donovan Burke is 0-1 in two starts with a 19.29 ERA with 10 earned runs and seven hits allowed. T.R. Williams, expected to start Sunday, has a 10.50 ERA and an 0-1 record with a team-high eight strikeouts.
STOLEN GOODS
Sophomore Jacob Humphrey and graduate student Robert Gallagher picked up right where they left off last season with each picking up their first stolen bags of the year against South Carolina. Gerry Siracusa added a stolen base against FGCU, keeping UMass Lowell at a perfect 3-3 this season. The River Hawks will look for their speed to get runners in scoring position once again this season.

YOUNG GUNS
Head Coach Ken Harring has not been shy about using his young talent this season. LJ Keevan returns to the starting rotation after a strong rookie campaign while Hayden Duke also made his return to the mound opening weekend. Freshmen Brian Foley, Jacob Jette, Nick DiRito and Michael Simes all made their first appearances for the River Hawks in the opening weekend and again at FGCU last week.

EXTRA EXTRA
Gerry Siracusa and Ryan Proto have each tallied two doubles in six games this season. Conor Kelly and Jake Fitzgibbons have each doubled this season to round out the team's six total. Jacob Humphrey has the River Hawks' only triple, and Fritz Genther has hit the lone home run of the new campaign.
