BOSTON, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men's 4,000 meter medley relay team raced in Friday's DMR session at the Scarlet and White Invitational hosted by Boston University.
The squad consisted of graduate student
Daniel Cosgrove (Boxford, Mass.), senior
Thomas Jordan (Needham, Mass.), sophomore
Graham Stedfast (Rowley, Mass.) and graduate student
Joseph Walsh (Auburn, Mass.). They had an amazing start to the race, earning the best time throughout the first 3,400 meters (2:56.09) and 3,600 meters (3:44.56), but fell behind from 3,600-4,000 meters to miss out on a chance at the victory.
"A good day one for the weekend," said head coach
Gary Gardner. "Danny Cosgrove ran a great first leg in the DMR. I am looking forward to tomorrow."
After a hard-fought race, the team is back at it tomorrow, February 4 for day two of the Scarlet and White Invitational while teammates sophomore
Luke Stelmach (Sterling, Mass.) and freshman
Derek Munroe (Tewksbury, Mass.) compete in the heptathlon at the Harvard Crimson Elite hosted by Harvard University.
