LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks fell to the Harvard Crimson 62-41 before the holiday break, falling to 0-11 on the season.
Rayne Durant scored a career-high 13 points and added a team-high six rebounds.
Cire Worley had a good game off the bench with eight points and six boards. UMass Lowell struggled from the field for three quarters but had an offensive explosion in the third quarter against Harvard with 22 points. The River Hawks will look to build off that and find a more consistent rhythm on the offensive side as the non-conference slate comes to a close.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate is 6-4 this season and 3-2 in its last five contests. In the last three games, the Raiders have beaten Le Moyne and St. Bonaventure and lost to Central Connecticut. They also played America East's UMBC earlier in the year, taking down the Retrievers 57-51. Taylor Golembiewski leads the team averaging 12.2 points while Sophia Diehl leads the way grabbing 5.4 rebounds per game. Three players have dealt out at least 20 assists this season with the squad averaging 13.2 per game.
VETERAN PRESENCE
Mili Carrera's return was a big one as the graduate student set career highs in several stats. She's been a leader all the season and the River Hawks will rely on her production and leadership as conference play approaches.
Sydney Watkins has been all over the court and the box score all season, leading the team in rebounds and steals while providing a constant energy boost for UMass Lowell.
Sydney Coombs and
Leilani Rodriguez have been big leaders both on and off the court, helping the newcomers learn the league.
A WIN WOULD
A win would be the first victory of the season for the River Hawks and the second win in program history over Colgate.
