LOWELL, Mass.— Entering his second season at the helm, UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Drew Kelleher unveiled the River Hawks' complete, 12-game slate for the 2024 season.
"Our staff and players cannot wait to get back on the field for the 2024 season," said Kelleher. "We've assembled a great out of conference slate of games that will prepare us for America East play. I'm confident that our players and coaches will put in the work that will allow us to improve throughout the season."
The schedule, which includes an even split of six home and away contests, sees the River Hawks open their season at Cushing Field against Holy Cross on Saturday, February 10. The squad then hits the road to face off against in-state rival Massachusetts for the Kennedy Cup clash on Feb. 17. UMass Lowell then returns to the Mill City to cap the month off with a game against Siena on Friday, Feb. 23.
Five games are on the docket for the River Hawks in March, beginning with a road trip to Long Island on March 2. The team returns home to host Fairfield (March 9) before welcoming UAlbany (March 16) for the conference opener. UMass Lowell then embarks on a two-game road trip down to Bryant (March 23) and Binghamton (March 30).
Going into April, the River Hawks continue America East play with a home game against UMBC (April 6), followed by a trip up the river for a contest against in-state rival Merrimack (April 13).
The final home game of the season sees the River Hawks take on Vermont (April 20), before heading out on one last road trip to NJIT (April 27) to close out the regular season.
The top four teams will qualify for the 2024 America East playoffs, with the semifinals set for Thursday, May 2. The championship match will follow on Saturday, May 4, with both rounds being played at the regular-season champion.
