11/9/2023 4:30:00 PM

HANOVER, N.H. - The UMass Lowell men's basketball team (1-0) will open a six-game road swing at Dartmouth on Friday, November 10 on ESPN+.

A WIN WOULD
A win against the Big Green would mark the third straight year that the River Hawks have started 2-0. It would also give the team it's first win against Dartmouth in program history.

LAST TIME OUT
Abdoul Karim Coulibaly and Ayinde Hikim both logged 15 points, as the UMass Lowell men's basketball team took down Rivier, 96-51, in the season opener. Although the Raiders took an early lead off a pair of threes, it didn't take long for the River Hawk offense to heat up, going on a 14-0 run to take a 16-6 lead four minutes in. From that point, UMass Lowell didn't look back, as a full-team effort propelled the team to the victory. Off the bench, Quinton Mincey added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Cam Morris III chhipped in with 14 points and five rebounds.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Four River Hawks are averaging double-digits, as Abdoul Karim Coulibaly and Ayinde Hikim both total 15.0 points per game. Right behind them, Cam Morris III adds 14.0 points, while Quinton Mincey adds 10.0 points and a team-best 10.0 rebounds per game. Picking up from where he left off last year as the primary playmaker, Hikim paces his squad with six assists, while Max Brooks totals two blocks, so far.

STARTING STRONG
With the 96-51 win against Rivier, the River Hawks opened the season with a victory for the fourth straight year. That decision also marked the team's 10th consecutive win in its home opener.

RUN IT BACK
The team compiled an astounding 26-8 overall record, in 2022-23, setting new Division I program bests for wins, win percentage (.765) and consecutive wins (9), and marking the first 20-win season for the River Hawks since 2010-11. The River Hawks also collected a record 11 victories during America East Conference play to finish second in the league standings (11-5) and earn a home court advantage in the America East Playoffs for the first time ever en route to their second championship game appearance in three years.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
The River Hawks finished the 2022-23 season with a perfect, 17-0 record at home, good for a new program best. With the 1-0 start at home in 2023-24, UMass Lowell is tied for the third longest home win streak in the nation (18). The team also boasts a 166-94 record in front of River Hawk Nation since 2003-04.

GOING DEEP
The River Hawks look to be able to rely on their depth once again this season, as 11 different team members tallied points in the season opener. In that contest, the squad combined for an impressive 45 points off the bench.
