LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's basketball team (0-4) fell to the Le Moyne Dolphins (1-4) on Saturday afternoon at the Costello Athletic Center.

Sydney Watkins (Indianapolis, IN) was all over the box score, scoring a team-high 15 points to go with six rebounds, five steals and four assists. Graduate student
Mili Carrera (Lima, Peru) added 15 points with five rebounds and one assist and one steal. Freshman
Abbey Lindsey (Staten Island, N.Y.) tallied nine on 3-6 shooting from behind arc.

Leilani Rodriguez (Worcester, Mass.) to give the River Hawks the lead at the first media timeout. The defense looked sharp, forcing Le Moyne into tough shots and turnovers. UMass Lowell led 19-10 after one.
Sydney Watkins put the River Hawks up by 13, their largest lead of the game, early in the second quarter with a quick steal and score, forcing the visitors into a timeout. The Dolphins started to hit shots out of the break, but the River Hawks maintained a double-digit advantage at the half. Watkins led the team with seven points and four steals in the first half.
UMass Lowell had a 22-12 advantage in rebounds and shot 43% from the field and 33% from behind the arc. Both sides had 10 first half turnovers.
Le Moyne opened the third shooting 3-5 while UMass Lowell went 1-7 from the field, forcing the River Hawks into an early timeout as the lead was cut in half.
Abbey Lindsey hit a big three and two steals gave the River Hawks breathing room, but not for long.
The Dolphins battled back and cut the lead to six in the final minute of the third.
Mili Carrera knocked down a pair of free throws in the final seconds of the quarter to give the River Hawks a 42-34 lead through three.
The 10-point lead was restored after Watkin's steal and score to open the fourth, but a three-point play the other way cut the lead again. The Dolphins kept chipping away and the River Hawks struggled to respond. A jumper from the elbow made it a one-point game at the fourth quarter media timeout.
It was a back-and-forth battle late in regulation with the visitors holding a 55-53 lead with 13.9 seconds to play. Watkins' driving layup tied the game with 4.2 seconds to play before the buzzer sent the game into overtime.
The Dolphins took a 57-55 lead behind a pair of free throws in overtime.
Mili Carrera knocked down a three to give the River Hawks the lead once again as Le Moyne called timeout with 47.6 seconds to play. A layup and free throws put the Dolphins back in front 61-58 with 15 seconds.
Freshman
Cire Worley (Philadelphia, Penn.) hit a three from deep to tie the game at 61, but the Dolphins answered with a layup with two seconds. The last-chance heave from the River Hawks was off and Le Moyne claimed the win.
UMass Lowell returns to action on Tuesday, November 21 at Central Connecticut.
