River Hawks Visit Bryant for Regular Season Finale

LOWELL, Mass. – The regular season concludes on Thursday night with the UMass Lowell women's soccer team (3-5-6, 3-2-2 AE) closing out the campaign with a trip to Rhode Island to take on the Bryant Bulldogs (7-5-3, 2-3-2 AE). Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Beirne Stadium.

LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks enter the final game of the season on a three-game unbeaten streak after edging UAlbany 2-1 on Sunday at Cushing Field. Goals from Calliste Brookshire and Hope Santaniello secured the three points for UMass Lowell and clinched a sixth consecutive postseason berth. After a slow start to the year, the offense has found life, scoring seven goals in the last three games. Santaniello tallied a goal and an assist last time while Laura Cetina got herself on the scoresheet with two goals in two games last week.
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Bryant has won seven games this season and picked up two wins and two draws in conference play. The Bulldogs have league wins over UAlbany and Vermont and draws with Binghamton and UMBC. A force at home, Bryant is 4-1-1 on their home turf this season, outscoring opponents 11-5 in six games. Nine players have totaled 18 goals as a unit, with Jordyn Collins and Makayla Griffin leading the team with three goals each. The Bulldogs are tied for second in the league with 14 goals against in 15 games.
 
MATCHUP HISTORY
UMass Lowell is 5-0-1 against Bryant since the 2015 season. The River Hawks have outscored the Bulldogs 9-0 in those six games and are on a three-game win streak. The last meeting was a 3-0 win for UMass Lowell at home in the 2022 season.

Five of the six postseason spots have been clinched heading into the final game of the regular season. The River Hawks can finish between No. 3 and No. 6 for the tournament, depending on results around the league. UMass Lowell holds the tiebreakers against NJIT, Maine and UNH.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Calliste Brookshire leads the team with four goals and four assists for 12 points this season. Chloe Layne and Julia Edholm have added three goals apiece and have combined for 13 total points. Taylor Burgess has made 64 saves through 14 starts with three clean sheets. Burgess and Allison LeBlanc are the only two players to play every minute this year, totaling 1260 minutes.
