LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks hit the road for their first away conference matchup of the season after opening league play with a close 60-56 loss to NJIT. Three players scored double-digit points, with
Ivory Finley leading with the way with 14.
Jaini Edmonds and
Amaya Dowdy scored 12 each. Edmonds added five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Kaylen Banwareesingh grabbed a team-high six rebounds. The River Hawks had nine turnovers against the Highlanders, a season-low, while the visitors had 20 turnovers. Success from the charity stripe continued as UMass Lowell shot 87% from the line.
SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
The Black Bears opened their America East slate with a 74-62 win over Bryant on December 29 in Rhode Island. Sarah Talon led all scorers with 21 points while Adrianna Smith added 19 points and 13 rebounds. Smith also averages a team-high 11.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. As a unit, Maine is shooting 41% from the field and 34% from behind the arc. The Black Bears are 5-8 overall with a 2-3 record at home this season. They have not played at home since December 11, an 88-60 win over Army. Maine has won two of its last three games.
A WIN WOULD
A win would be a third win over Maine in program history. A win would also be a second win in three games and back-to-back road wins over the Black Bears.
LEADING THE FLOCK
Jaini Edmonds leads the team averaging 9.5 points while shooting 35% from the field and 38% from behind the arc.
Kaylen Banwareesingh is averaging 8.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Edmonds' 17 made threes is also a team high.
Ivory Finley and
Jaliena Sanchez lead the team with 18 and 17 steals this season, respectively.
Amaya Dowdy has totaled 16 blocks to lead the team, including five against Fairleigh Dickinson. Dowdy is also shooting a team-high 41% this season on 31-76 shooting.
Jaliena Sanchez has seen the most game action of all River Hawks this season, averaging 35.5 minutes per game through 10 contests.

Jaliena Sanchez lead the team with 18 and 17, respectively, while
