LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell Men's soccer team (1-1-1, 0-0-0 AE) returns home to take on the Holy Cross Crusaders (0-3-0, 0-0-0 Patriot League) at Cushing Field on Tuesday, September 6 before a quick road trip to take on the Merrimack Warriors (1-2-0, 0-0-0 NEC) on Saturday, September 10.

LAST TIME OUT
The River Hawks fought to a 2-2 draw with Rhode Island thanks to a last-minute goal from freshman Daragh Reilly (Navan, Ireland). Senior Borna Miklic (Kutina, Croatia) led the way for the River Hawks, scoring a goal in the third minute while also assisting on Reilly's goal. In net, senior goalkeeper Jacob Heihsel (Holliston, Mass.) made nine saves while holding the opponents to two goals.

Sophomore Viljar Byrkjeland (Norheimsund, Norway) currently leads the River Hawks with five points, including at least one point in each of the River Hawks three games. His two goals also lead the team, while he is tied for first with one assist. Junior Loucas Costeas (Nicosia, Cyrpus) and Heihsel both have recorded ten saves in net.
 
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
Holy Cross has started the year off 0-3, while most recently coming off a 2-0 loss to Sacred Heart. Leading the Crusaders on offense has been Matt McGonigle who has tallied three shots and two shots on goal in 219 minutes of action. In net, Jimmy Joyce has seen the most amount of time, recording just over 210 minutes while making five saves with a .500 save percentage.
