DRACUT, Mass.—Last Friday, the UMass Lowell men's hockey team welcomed friends, fans and alums to the course at Four Oaks Country Club in Dracut, Mass., for the 22nd annual River Hawk Hockey Golf Tournament presented by UKG.
Boasting a sellout crowd for the third year in a row, the tournament brought together 132 golfers who hit the links in 33 foursomes. With a record 41 alumni in attendance, the event allowed past and present River Hawks the opportunity to come together and reunite for some friendly competition.
"The weather was incredible, and the day of golf was terrific. I feel it was one of the most productive outings we have had to date. We eclipsed a previous record of hockey alums returning for the event, and everyone seemed to have a good time," commented Head Coach
Norm Bazin. "The support from our corporate sponsors continues to increase, which is great to see. I'd like to thank everyone again for their support in helping our players compete for championships in the future."
Capping off the day, several participants walked away with unique prizes, such as signed jerseys, River Hawk gear, memorabilia and more. Profits raised from the 2022 tournament will be used to continue the growth and development of the UMass Lowell hockey program and its student-athletes.
The River Hawks kick off the 2022-23 campaign in friendly territory with a Homecoming Weekend tilt against St. Lawrence on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 6:05 p.m. To purchase tickets for the upcoming season, please visit www. GoRiverHawks.com/seasontickets.
