Five River Hawks Earn All-Conference Honors

LOWELL, Mass. – Five River Hawks have been earned America East All-Conference honors, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.

Seniors Gerry Siracusa (Kinnelon, N.J.) and Joshua Becker (Burlington, Mass.) were named to the America East All-Conference First Team while freshmen Jacob Humphrey (Standish, ME.) and LJ Keevan (Holden, Mass.) were named to the America East All-Conference Second Team. Following stellar rookie campaigns, freshman Brandon Fish (Londonderry, N.H.) joined Jacob Humphrey and LJ Keevan on the America East All-Rookie Team.

Joshua Becker was named to the All-Rookie Team his freshman year, making this his second All-Conference honor, and was named Pitcher of the Week on April 5. The senior finished the season with a 5.32 ERA and won six games, tied for third in the conference. He struck out 75 batters, the second most on the team, and was in the top 10 in the conference in strikeouts and batters struck out looking. He also recorded two saves on the season, tied for second on the team. 

Captain Gerry Siracusa led the River Hawks in runs (52), hits (80), doubles (16), RBIs (65) and total bases (130). The Kinnelon, N.J. native led the team in slugging percentage with a .537 clip and was second on the team with a .331 batting average and hit 10 home runs on the year. He was in the top 10 in the conference in hits, runs, doubles and RBIs and led the league in at bats with 242. Siracusa also had a .988 fielding percentage with 164 putouts on the season. 

The three-time America East Rookie of the Week Jacob Humphrey's freshman campaign was one for the history books as he broke the program and conference record for most stolen bases in a season with 46 in 53 games, leading the team and league in the category. He sat second in the country in stolen bases and third in stolen bases per game at the end of the season. The rookie impressed at the plate as well, tallying 68 hits and 50 runs to go along with 36 walks and 23 RBIs.

LJ Keevan's rookie year on the bump saw him finish with a 5-5 record in 14 appearances. The freshman finished the year with a team-best 4.71 ERA and struck out 60 batters. He also finished in the top 10 in the league in strikeouts, earned run average and innings pitched. Keevan was named America East Pitcher of the Week on March 15. 

Brandon Fish had a stellar rookie season at the plate and on the field for the River Hawks. The Londonderry, N.H. native hit .271 with a .411 slugging percentage in 58 games this season. He tallied 64 hits, 33 runs, 15 doubles, four home runs and 51 RBIs. Fish saw time at second base and third base this year and had a .944 fielding percentage with 51 putouts and 85 assists. He also finished in the league's top 10 in hits, RBIs, doubles, triples and at bats. Fish was also named America East Rookie of the Week on May 9. 
 
The River Hawks earned the No. 4 seed in the 2022 America East Championship and will play the No. 5 seed UMBC Retrievers at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25 at Mahaney Diamond.
