LOWELL, Mass.—The UMass Lowell men's lacrosse team (1-11, 1-4 America East) hits the road for its final tilt of the 2022 season against Binghamton (5-7, 3-2 AE) on Saturday, April 30. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The River Hawks capped their home slate last Wednesday, April 20, with a nail-biting battle with Holy Cross at Cushing Field. After falling behind the Crusaders in the third, UMass Lowell clawed it's way back within one but ultimately fell short in a 15-14 heartbreaker. Sophomore Jake Davis (Franklin, Mass.) led the team with a career-high six points off a collegiate-best four goals and two assists. Freshman Riley Lawhorn (Amherst, Mass.), graduate student Domenic Giachello (Somers, Conn.) and junior Colin Deso (Charlton, Mass.) all finished the night with two goals each, with Lawhorn and Giachello adding a helper each to register three. Lawhorn's three-point outing marked a career-best for the freshman midfielder.

At the X, senior Liam McDonough (Groton, Mass.) went 16 for 29 for a .552 faceoff percentage. The faceoff specialist also collected a team-best eight groundballs.

In the cage, sophomore Anthony Mancino (Holbrook, N.Y.) played a complete game, finishing with 10 saves.

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
Leading the way for the River Hawks, junior Conor Foley (Walpole, Mass.) has all but cemented his spot atop the scoreboard for UMass Lowell this year. In his 12 starts, Foley has knocked in a career-high 27 goals and added 10 assists for a new collegiate-best 37 points. After a goal and an assist last weekend, the attacker is now on a 13-game point streak extending back to the River Hawks' last game of the 2021 campaign. He also leads the team and is tied for 12th in the nation in man-up goals with six. His 10.50 shots per game also mark a conference-best in the statistical category, while his 2.25 goals per game land him in fourth in America East. Playing a key role in the midfield, Giachello continues to be a major offensive catalyst for UMass Lowell with a team-best and career-best 12 assists this season.

At the faceoff X, McDonough continues his standout senior season. In 12 games, McDonough has registered 156 wins in 303 faceoff attempts for a .515 faceoff percentage. He also leads the team with 82 ground balls and sits atop the conference standing in groundballs per game with 6.83.

On defense, freshman Alex Chairs (Ellicott City, Md.) has become a commanding presence starting in 11 of his 12 appearances. The rookie leads the team with 12 caused turnovers and ranks 12th in the conference in caused turnovers per game with 1.0. He also sits in third on the River Hawks in ground balls with 27 thus far. In the cage, Mancino stays the River Hawks' last line of defense. Making 10 starts, the sophomore is averaging 15.25 goals-against average and a .419 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
The Bearcats look to end the regular season on a high note after dropping a 17-10 decision on the road to Vermont last weekend. Leading the way for Binghamton, senior Kevin Winkoff has 33 goals and 17 assists for 50 points this year. With 2.75 goals per game and 4.17 points per game, Winkoff leads the conference in both offensive categories. Midfielder Thomas Greenblatt has been a major contributor for the Bearcats in transition, dishing out 18 helpers and tallying 10 goals for 28 points. He joins Winkoff on the America East leaderboard with 1.50 assists per game, good for third in the conference.

Junior Teddy Dolan is likely to get the call for the Bearcats between the pipes this weekend. Against the Catamounts, Dolan made 16 stops and collected three ground balls. Dolan now has five games this year with 16 or more saves.

ALL-TIME AGAINST THE BEARCATS
In the all-time series with Binghamton, the Bearcats hold the 5-1 advantage over UMass Lowell. The last time these teams met, the River Hawks dropped a closely-contested 11-9 decision at home. In the contest, Foley led the team with a hat trick and an assist for four points. Mancino also made a season-high 14 saves in the tilt.

A WIN WOULD
A win against the Bearcats would bring UMass Lowell to a 2-5 mark all-time against the team and end their season with a 2-11 (2-4 AE) mark.
