RIver Hawks Set To Finish Conference Play At UAlbany

LOWELL, Mass. – Coming off a 1-1 week, the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (4-11, 1-4 AE) will look to cap off their conference games with a win as they take on the UAlbany Great Danes (6-7, 4-0 AE) on Saturday afternoon at John Fallon Field.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The River Hawks battled with Stony Brook on Senior Day, falling to the Seawolves, 16-1. Junior Izzy Liquori (Agawam, Mass.) tallied the lone River Hawk goal, while freshman Jade Catlin (Middletown, Md.) totaled a team high two draw controls.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Junior Molly Shaw (Marshfield, Mass.) and Liquori lead the River Hawks with 28 goals over 15 games. Sophomore Megan Brockbank's (Bayport, N.Y.) 10 goals and 14 assists put her third on the team with 24 points. Junior Layton Nass (Manhasset, N.Y.) paces the defense with 18 caused turnovers and graduate student Alex Salim's (East Islip, N.Y.) 108 saves lead the team.
 
THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER
Throughout 15 games this season, eight different River Hawks have recorded a hat trick. Shaw leads the way with five total hat tricks, while sophomore Kaitlin Tobin (Southold, N.Y), and freshmen Jade Catlin (Middletown, Md.) and Sophia Scialdone (Syracuse, N.Y.) have all recorded their first career three-goal games this season.

SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
The Great Danes welcome the River Hawks after falling to #4 Syracuse, 18-11. Leading the way on offense is midfielder Katie Pascale who has tallied 36 goals and 30 assists for a team high 66 points. Pacing the Great Danes in goals scored is Sarah Falk, who has totaled 38 goals through 13 games. In net, Katherine Chiarella has recorded 63 saves with a .420 save percentage in 372 minutes of action.
 
A WIN WOULD
A win would against UAlbany would help the River Hawks move up the conference standings, while finishing conference play with a 2-4 record.
 
UALBANY MATCHUP HISTORY
UAlbany and UMass Lowell have played against each other six times, with the Great Danes winning every matchup. The last time out, the Great Danes won 15-8 during the 2021 season.
