Saturday at NJIT: Live stats | Watch

LOWELL, Mass.—The UMass Lowell men's lacrosse team (0-7, 0-1 America East) resumes conference action this Saturday, March 26, with a road clash against Stony Brook (0-7, 0-1 AE).

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
The River Hawks hope to gain some traction this weekend against the Highlanders as they chase down their first win of the season. Through the first seven contests, junior Conor Foley (Walpole, Mass.) holds steady at the top of the scoresheet for the River Hawks with 25 points off 18 goals and seven assists. A champion on the extra-man opportunity, Foley owns team-best five man-up goals this season. On defense, freshmen Ryan Quinlan (Mattapoisett, Mass.) and Alex Chairs (Ellicott City, Md.) have emerged as bright young stars for the River Hawks. The duo owns 15 ground balls each in their seven games, and they sit one-two on the stats sheet in caused turnovers with eight and seven, respectively. In goal, sophomore Anthony Mancino (Holbrook, N.Y.) has earned the nod five times this season, leading the UMass Lowell goalie quartet with 222:43 minutes played and 47 saves.

SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
Struggling to find its footing, NJIT enters the weekend with all eyes on its first win of the season. Leading the pack, Gavyn Willson and Gage Adams pace the Highlanders with seven goals and six assists for 13 points each. Long-stick midfielder Lynch Raby leads the team in caused turnovers with eight in his seven games played. In the cage, Liam Brown resumed his role as the primary goalie for the Highlanders crew, playing 310:25 minutes and averaging 14.88 goals against.

LAST TIME WE MET
The last time the two teams met, NJIT claimed a 14-10 win over the River Hawks at Cushing Field. Junior Nick Harvath (Whitmore Lake, Mich.), sophomore Jake Davis (Franklin, Mass.) and former River Hawk Jake Lining logged three points each in the outing. Sophomore faceoff specialist had a standout performance at the faceoff X, going 11-18 and scooping up a team-high five groundballs.

AT THE FACEOFF X
Senior Liam McDonough (Groton, Mass.) has been a force for the River Hawks at the faceoff X, continuing to build up momentum as the season trudges on. In his last outing, McDonough went 17-for-26 against a nationally-ranked Jacksonville squad to outmaneuver the Dolphins at the X. His .503 faceoff percentage ranks him fifth in the conference, while his 6.57 ground balls per game place him second overall behind Renz Conlon of Stony Brook.

A WIN WOULD
A win for the River Hawks would move them to a 1-7 record on the season and a 1-1 conference mark in 2022.

ALL-TIME SERIES
