LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's basketball team (0-6, 0-0 AE) will open the four-game December slate with a road contest against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights (6-2, 0-0 NEC) on Saturday, December 3. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Stratis Arena.

LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks have started the season 0-6 with an 0-3 record at home and on the road. UMass Lowell fell to Harvard 86-66 last time out.
Jaini Edmonds and
Jaliena Sanchez each scored 16 points to lead the team. Edmonds went 4-5 from behind the arc while Sanchez added a team-high seven assists. The River Hawks shot 47% against the Crimson, the best showing this season, and shot a seaon-high 71% from the field in the second quarter.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
Fairleigh Dickinson enters Saturday after winning a third straight game on Wednesday night. The Knights took down America East member NJIT 67-52 to improve to 6-2 this season. FDU has wins over Davidson, Maryland Eastern Shore and NJIT during the three-game win streak. Chloe Wilson leads the team averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Ella Farjado has hit a team-hgih 14 threes this season and is shooting 43% from the field. As a unit, the Knights have made 54 threes, shooting 35%, and have allowed just 18 from opponents. FDU is also shooting 75% from the free throw line to round out their balanced offense.
A WIN WOULD
A win would be a fifth win over Fairleigh Dickinson in program history and a second straight win against the Knights. A win would also be the first win of the season for the River Hawks.
LEADING THE FLOCK
Kaylen Banwareesingh leads the team averaging 10.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. The senior is shooting 36% from the field to lead the River Hawks.
Jaini Edmonds shooting 35% from the field and a team-high 43% from behind the arc. Edmonds' nine made threes is also a team high.

Ivory Finley are tied for the team lead with 10 steals and
Amaya Dowdy has totaled five blocks to lead the team.

Kaylen Banwareesingh has taken on a bigger leadership role this season and the senior is putting up numbers so far. The Bronx native is averaging a double-double to start the year and has been the River Hawksí best threat on the offensive end. Coach King has been impressed with Banwareesinghís effort and scoring and will look to the veteran to continue to lead the team throughout the season.
