River Hawks Unveil 2023 Schedule

12/15/2022 3:00:00 PM

LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell baseball head coach Ken Harring has unveiled the 2023 schedule. The River Hawks look to return to the America East Championship after making their first appearance in the championship game in program history last season.

"We try to put together a schedule each year that is challenging early and will prepare us for the rigorous America East Conference schedule. The 2023 schedule accomplishes that," said head coach Ken Harring. "It is a great balance for us, we will be challenged and play in challenging environments. When we achieve our goal of winning the conference championship, the environment at a regional will be nothing new to them."

The season will begin with a 17-game road trip, starting with a three-game series against South Carolina on February 17 before a series with Florida Golf Coast a week later in Fort Meyers. March brings a series with James Madison and two meetings with Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. The road trip concludes with a weekend series against Delaware in mid-March.

LeLacheur Park will host its first game of the season on March 22 when the River Hawks welcome local rival Holy Cross for a midweek matchup. America East action begins just two days later when Binghamton comes to Lowell for a weekend series. The homestand wraps up with a midweek game against Stonehill on March 29.

A visit to Maine and Dartmouth opens the month of the April before new conference foe Bryant comes to Lowell for a weekend series. UMass Lowell will play Merrimack, UAlbany, Rhode Island, UMBC and Boston College on the road and host Merrimack, Harvard and NJIT in an action-packed April slate.

The final month of the regular season begins with a seven-game homestand with weekend series against Maine and Hofstra and a midweek Kennedy Cup matchup against Massachusetts on May 9. A visit to Northeastern and weekend series against Binghamton wrap up the regular season for the River Hawks.

The America East Championship is scheduled for May 24-27. Location and game times for the tournament will be released at a later date.
