LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks have started the season 0-4 with 0-2 records at home and on the road. UMass Lowell fell to the Brown Bears last time out, a 67-56 loss at Costello on Saturday afternoon. SCOUTING THE MINUTEWOMEN
Massachusetts is off to a good start to the season with a 3-1 record. The Minutewomen opened the new season with a win over CCSU before falling to #5 Tennessee. Since then, Massachusetts has won back-to-back games over Maine and Harvard last week. Four players are averaging double-digit points with Sam Breen leading the way with 17.0 points per game. Breen also leads the team averaging 8.3 rebounds per game. Four players have tallied double-digit assists this season, as the Massachusetts offense has been very good to start the year.

A WIN WOULD
A win would be a first win over Massachusetts since the 2018-19 season. A win would also be the first win of the season for the River Hawks.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Kaylen Banwareesingh leads the team averaging a double-double with 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. The senior is shooting 44% from the field to lead the River Hawks. Ivory Finley is shooting just under 30% from the field and is averaging 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. LEAD BY EXAMPLE
Kaylen Banwareesingh has taken on a bigger leadership role this season and the senior is putting up numbers so far. The Bronx native is averaging a double-double to start the year and has been the River Hawksí best threat on the offensive end. Coach King has been impressed with Banwareesinghís effort and scoring and will look to the veteran to continue to lead the team throughout the season.

NEW TO THE NEST
The River Hawks welcome two newcomers to the 2022-23 roster. Graduate student Mili Carrera joins the team after four years at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma where she scored 1,229 points in her career. Freshman Ella Ner enters her first season with UMass Lowell after playing with the Israel National Team throughout her high school career. Carrera and Ner bring a new dynamic to the River Hawks on both ends of the floor.

COACHING STAFF COMPLETE
Denise King completed her coaching staff prior to the start of the new season. John Owens joins the staff as an assistant coach, working primarily with the guards on both ends of the floor. Marcus Young was named the director of basketball operations over the summer. King now has a full staff ready for the new campaign ahead.

SENIOR CLASS
Head Coach Denise King has worked with this talented senior class for the entirety of their collegiate career. The class is a crucial part of the program. Jaliena Sanchez and Kaylen Banwareesingh return to the Rive Hawk roster and will once again be looked upon to lead the team this season.
