BOSTON – After standout defensive performances on Friday afternoon, senior Jacob Heihsel (Holliston, Mass.) and freshman Oscar Perez (Sagunto, Spain) have earned America East weekly awards, as announced by the league of Monday morning.
 
Heihsel has been named Co-Defensive Player of the Week. The senior made four saves in Friday's 0-0 draw against the UAlbany Great Danes, earning his fourth clean shutout of the year, extending his career high. This marks his second straight game with a clean sheet, with the first coming against Bryant (0-0).
 
This is Heihsel's first Defensive Player of the Week honor of his career.
 
As a key member of the River Hawk defense, Oscar Perez has been named the America East Rookie of the Week. In the 0-0 draw against UAlbany, Perez logged a shot while playing a full 90 minutes to help keep the Great Danes from getting on the board.

This marks Perez's first Rookie of the Week honor of the season.
