DURHAM, N.H. - The UMass Lowell men's basketball team visits its neighbor to the north on Saturday when the team squares off against New Hampshire in Durham at 1 p.m.
A WIN WOULD
A win against the Wildcats would give the River Hawks their second straight victory against UNH and their fourth in the last five meetings in Durham.
LEADING THE FLOCK
Kalil Thomas is averaging 10.8 points per game to pace the squad.
Max Brooks, who adds 10.0 points, boasts a team-best 6.0 rebounds per game and 38 blocks.
Justin Faison adds 43 assists, while
Everette Hammond totals 26 steals.
LAST TIME OUT
Allin Blunt poured in a career-high 23 points to propel UMass Lowell to a 71-62 victory against Maine home on Jan. 19. Blunt shot 67% (8-12) from the floor with four threes to lead the way in the America East win.
Kalil Thomas added 13 points and six rebounds, while
Justin Faison chipped in with 11 points and three assists.
Quinton Mincey led the team on the glass in his first start with seven rebounds, including a game-high four offensive boards.
ON HIS BLOCK
Max Brooks set a new, all-time program record with 10 blocks at UAlbany on Jan. 12. He leads the conference and is 35th in the country with 2.38 blocks per game.
TIPPING POINT
Starting off with the ball in their hands has proved to be a recipe for success for the River Hawks this year, as the team is 10-2 so far when winning the tip.

So far this year, UMass Lowell owns a 7-0 record when leading at halftime.
COMEBACK KIDS
With the performance at UMBC on Jan. 8, the River Hawks have now trailed in the second half in five of their 10 wins so far. This includes two, double-digit comebacks this season. After trailing by as many as 12 in the first half at GW, the team most recently erased a 14-point deficit at Merrimack.

In 2021-22, the River Hawks are 3-1 in games decided by five points or less.

UMass Lowell is first in the America East for offensive boards per game (11.0).
PUTTING UP A FIGHT
So far, four of the team's seven losses, including its three conference losses have featured double-digit lead changes.
DEFENSE WINS GAMES
This year, Coach Duquette has made defense a huge point of emphasis for his program, which typically leads the America East in several offensive categories. So far, the River Hawks have only allowed more than 57 points eight times this season, and are first in the league and 19th in the nation in FG% defense. The team held Fisher to an all-time program-low 38 points on Nov. 27.
SHARING IS CARING
The performance against MCLA on Dec. 11 featured a program-record seven, double-digit point scorers. 12 of the team's 17 games so far have featured eight or more point scorers, including five games with at least 10 scorers.
