River Hawk Nation Raises Over $80,000 During Days of Giving

LOWELL, Mass. - River Hawk Nation came together to show its support for all of the department's student-athletes on Wednesday-Thursday, April 14-15, during UMass Lowell's annual Days of Giving event. This two-day event allowed River Hawk Nation to work as one to drive philanthropic support to UMass Lowell Athletics.

Thanks to several generous donations, the athletic department staff and coaches were challenged to engage with 400 donors in order to help unlock over $30,000 in challenge money. At the end of the two days, River Hawk Nation came through with over 600 donors, raising over $80,000 to support UMass Lowell Athletics and its 400+ student-athletes.

"Our River Hawk Days of Giving were a total team effort by our amazing staff, coaches and our generous donors, who continue to step up during these difficult times for our student-athletes," said UMass Lowell Director of Athletics Peter Casey. "Thank you to everyone who took part. We are so proud of our student-athletes, and we can't wait to get all of our great donors back on campus very soon."

Days of Giving donors were able to support the program of their choice, as well as to continue to provide resources to further River Hawk academic resources, leadership programming, mental wellness and nutritional services that are essential for a thriving and winning athletics program. The field hockey program led all River Hawk teams with 116 donors.
