LOWELL, Mass. -
The UMass Lowell men's basketball team kicks off a three-game homestand on Saturday, December 11 against MCLA at 1 p.m.

A WIN WOULD
A win against the Trailblazers would improve the River Hawks' home record to 3-1 this season.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Everette Hammond is averaging 11.6 points per game to pace the squad. Max Brooks, who adds 10.6 points, boasts a team-best 5.2 rebounds per game and 17 blocks. Justin Faison adds 31 assists and 18 steals.

LAST TIME OUT
Everette Hammond and Kalil Thomas each dropped in 16 points in a 72-62 setback for UMass Lowell at Patriot League favorite Boston University on Dec. 8. The River Hawks made it a one-point game early in the second half, but the Terriers pulled away down the stretch. Hammond went a perfect, 6-for-6 from the line in the outing, while Thomas sunk four of his five field goals from beyond the arc. Justin Faison added 11 points and five assists. As a team, the River Hawks forced 17 BU turnovers.

ROAD WARRIORS
With the win at Merrimack, the team matched a DI program record for single-season, non-conference wins away from home (4).

COMEBACK KIDS
The River Hawks have now made two, double-digit comebacks this season. After trailing by as many as 12 in the first half at GW, the team most recently erased a 14-point deficit at Merrimack.

TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF
Capitalizing on turnovers was not only a major part of the win at Merrimack, but has been a theme throughout the season. After averaging just over 11 points off turnovers last year, the River Hawks are boasting 19.1 per game this season.

SHARING IS CARING
The River Hawks are showing off their depth this season, as six of the team's 10 games so far have featured eight or more point scorers, including four games with at least 10 scorers.

HERE'S THE DOWN LOW
The River Hawks worked hard to drive to the hoop against CCSU with their first 22 points coming from the paint. Including 60 points down low against Fisher, the team is now averaging 36.0 points per game from the paint.

DEFENSE WINS GAMES
This year, Coach Duquette has made defense a huge point of emphasis for his program, which typically leads the America East in several offensive categories. So far, the River Hawks have only allowed more than 57 points three times this season and are third in the league in scoring defense. The team held Fisher to an all-time program-low 38 points on Nov. 27.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL
So far this year, UMass Lowell owns a 4-0 record when leading at halftime.

CONTROLLING THE BOARDS
The team currently owns a DI program-best rebound margin (+1.2).

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
The team earned its eighth consecutive win in a home opener in 2021-22. Additionally, with a 2-1 record so far, UMass Lowell is now 143-90 in front of River Hawk Nation since 2003-04.
