Colin O'Neill (Odenton, Md.) was the lone River Hawk to earn multiple honors. The senior forward was named the recipient of the Billy Riley Unsung Hero Award for his hard work on and off the ice.  The award is named for the former long time coach who took the program to three Division II National Championships and raised the program to Division I and a NCAA Tournament berth. He was also honored as the winner of the Gus Coutu Award, given annually to the player who best exemplifies the spirit of the hockey program. O'Neill was one of four River Hawks to play in every game this past season.

Forward Carl Berglund (Hammaro, Sweden) was named UMass Lowell's Rookie of the Year. Berglund ranked second on the River Hawks' roster in scoring with 23 points and led the team with 12 goals, skating in all 34 games for the River Hawks this season. His 23 points ranked tied for seventh among Hockey East rookie scorers.

Sophomore blueliner Jon McDonald (Livonia, Mich.) earned the Best Defensive Player Award, while sophomore forward Austin O'Rourke (Canton, Ga.) was named Most Improved Player. McDonald played in 25 contests for the River Hawks, posting 15 points and 11 assists with a +7 plus/minus rating, which led all UMass Lowell defensemen. O'Rourke played in 27 of 34 games, registering a career-high four points (2g,2a).

The Coaches' Perseverance Award was bestowed to sophomore defenseman Nolan Sawchuk (Burnsville, Minn) for his determination and courage he exhibited during the season.

Freshman forward Matt Brown (Wood Ridge, N.J.) took home the G. Harvey Chandler Award, presented annually to the teams' leading scorer. Brown recorded a team-best 24 points and 18 assists in 33 games in his rookie season for the River Hawks. Brown's 24 points were sixth best in the conference among first-year players and his 18 assists was tied for fourth among Hockey East rookies.
