NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The UMass Lowell softball team (6-9) will wrap up its 10-day spring break trip to Tennessee with six more games this week.

The River Hawks will first visit Belmont for a single mid-week tilt on Wednesday, March 11 at 4:30 p.m. before traveling to Memphis for the Tiger Classic on March 13-15. The team will open that three-day event with matchups against Purdue and Memphis on Friday. UMass Lowell will then square off against the Purdue once again on Saturday before wrapping up the weekend against Syracuse and Tennessee State on Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT
The River Hawks participated in the Governors Classic in Clarksville, Tenn. from March 6-8, finishing the weekend with a 2-3 record. The team started and ended the tournament with wins, defeating IPFW, 8-4, on March 6 and tournament host Austin Peay, 15-5, in five innings on March 8.

Courtney Cashman (Danvers, Mass.) paces the team with a .462 batting average, an .846 slugging percentage, 15 RBI and six home runs. Junior
Maria Moccio (Feeding Hills, Mass.), who is hitting .340, adds to the offense with 15 RBI. Junior
Olivia Labbe (Rochester, Mass.) totals a team-best 12 runs and for doubles, as well. Junior
Lovina Capria (Deltona, Fla.) paces the pitching staff with a 4-1 record and 28 strikeouts, while freshman
Chelsea Runyon (Scripps Ranch, Calif.) boasts 2.53 ERA.

GOING ON THE OFFENSIVE
The River Hawks set a new Division I program record with 15 runs scored in a five-inning victory against Austin Peay on March 8.

EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT
The River Hawks have already battled through five extra innings games in 2020 with a 2-3 record. The team is now 18-13 in extras at the Division I level.

PLAYING THE LONG GAME
The River Hawks, who logged at least one home run in each of their first five games this year, lead the America East with 13 long balls in 2020.
Courtney Cashman already has six dingers this season for a career total of 29, which puts her just six away from tying the program's all-time record (35).

Lovina Capria got off to the best start for a pitcher during the program's Division I era with a perfect, 4-0 record. So far in 2020, she sits at 4-1 overall.

Senior
Marianne Sparacia (Spring Hill, Fla.) currently ranks in the top 20 toughest players to strikeout in the nation, as she has just one K in 2020.

Courtney Cashman surpassed
Ariana Darcy '15 to take over the top spot on the program's all-time record list for career walks. Cashman totals eight free passes this season for 88 in her career.

MILESTONE MOMENT
With the win against Houston on Feb. 8, Head Coach
Danielle Henderson secured her 100th career win. In doing so, she becomes the fourth coach in program history to reach that milestone.

As a team, UMass Lowell is ranked 65th in the nation for home runs per game (0.87), as well as 86th for double plays per game (0.33). Individually,
Courtney Cashman is 15th for home runs per game (0.40) and 27th for slugging percentage (.846).
