Connor Withers (Manassas, Va.) was tabbed America East Rookie of the Week for his performance in a pair of wins last week.
Withers helped propel the River Hawks to a 2-0 week, improving the team's record in conference play to 5-7. He averaged a team-best 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds, with a total of four assists, three blocks and two steals. The forward also logged a personal-best three, three-point field goals in each of the outings.
In the first game of the week, three of Withers' five field goals came from beyond the arc. His 17 points led four double-digit scorers for the River Hawks, who battled through nine tied scores to defeat Maine, 71-63, on February 12.
Later in the week at Hartford on Feb. 15, Withers shot 57 percent (8-14) from the field for his first 20-point performance in a 74-67 victory.
This marks Withers' second Rookie of the Week nod of the season. He is averaging 8.5 points and 5.6 rebounds in his freshman campaign, while shooting an impressive 53 percent from the floor.
