5/31/2019 2:37:00 PM

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Prior to the 45th Annual New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Joe Walsh All-Star Game, UMass Lowell Head Coach Ken Harring was presented with the Jack Butterfield Award on Friday morning.

The Butterfield Award is awarded to an active or former New England coach who exhibits the integrity and dedication to the game of college baseball that coach Butterfield demonstrated throughout his career.

"I am humbled to be the 2019 recipient of the NEIBA Jack Butterfield Award," remarked Ken Harring. "Having coached Jack Butterfield's grandson at Saint Anselm, Jack Riley, the award means that much more. I want to thank the NEIBA for honoring me with this prestigious award."

The All-Star game pits the best Division II and III players (College Division) against the region's top Division I players (University Division). This year's contest was played at Dunkin Stadium, the home of the Hartford Yard Goats. The River Hawks were represented by Ciaran Devenney (Manalapan, N.J.) and Nick Rand (Hyde Park, N.Y.).
