LOWELL, Mass. --
UMass Lowell Hockey Head Coach Norm Bazin announced the schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 season on Monday afternoon.

The River Hawks open the season officially for their 53rd season of hockey on Saturday, October 5th against Alabama-Huntsville. UMass Lowell will face Colgate for a two-game series on Homecoming Weekend on October 18-19th at the Tsongas Center.

UMass Lowell commences Hockey East play on Friday, October 25th against longtime rival Boston University at the Tsongas Center.

The River Hawks' home non-conference schedule also includes hosting Rensselaer and Penn State for a co-hosted tournament with Merrimack on Thanksgiving weekend. UMass Lowell will also take road trips to Minnesota-Duluth on October 11 and 12th, as well as a trip to RIT for a pair of games after New Year's.

"Our 2019-20 schedule provides a healthy mix of top teams from quality leagues," said UMass Lowell Head Coach Norm Bazin. "Non-conference action includes traveling to Minnesota-Duluth to play the defending National Champion from the NCHC. We face two opponents from the Atlantic League hosting Alabama Huntsville and traveling to RIT. We are excited to host a Thanksgiving event hosting Penn State from the Big Ten. We also will also host two quality programs from the ECAC with RPI and Colgate coming to town. Hockey East has never had more parity and we are anxious to compete with the best teams in the league. Don't be left out, become a season ticket holder and don't miss any of the action at Tsongas."

UMass Lowell will host UConn on Senior Night to close out the regular-season on Friday, March 6th at the Tsongas Center.

UMass Lowell will play 19 home contests this year, which includes five games in each in the months of October and November.
