WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior
Kaysee Talcik (Shelton, Conn.) and junior
Marianne Sparacia (Spring Hill, Fla.) were named to the 2019 America East All-Championship Team following the conclusion of the tournament on Saturday.
Talcik turned in 18.1 innings of work en route to her second straight All-Championship Team nod. She totaled 11 strikeouts, while allowing just six runs for a 2.32 ERA. The senior pitcher logged a season-high eight strikeouts in her squad's 5-4, extra-innings thriller against Binghamton that propelled UMass Lowell to the loser's bracket final on Friday.
Sparacia was a leader on offense for the River Hawks at the tournament, batting .333 with two hits and a team-best three RBI. Her two-run double down the right field line gave the River Hawks their first lead of the Binghamton game and her sacrifice fly to deep left accounted for the team's lone run against Stony Brook.
Talcik and Sparacia were joined on the All-Championship Team by UMBC's Courtney Coppersmith, Julia Keffler, Sierra Pierce and Kaly Winslow, Stony Brook's Katelyn Corr, Melissa Rahrich and Irene Rivera, Binghamton's Morgan Bienkowski and Hannah Lyons, UAlbany's Amelia Ely and Hartford's Julianna Kocenski.
