LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse regular season is winding down, with just two games remaining as the River Hawks (4-11, 1-4 AE) head to UMBC for a 3 p.m. game on Saturday, April 20.

Last Time Out
Last weekend, the team broke a program record in single-game goals and took down Vermont 19-18 on Senior Day. With nine different River Hawks scoring, the team notched its most goals in a single game in program history, surpassing the previous high of 18, and earned its first conference win of the season. Paige MacEachern (Lynnfield, Mass.) led with four goals, while Kristina Keith (East Kingston, N.H.) and Kendyl Finelli (Southborough, Mass.) each had hat tricks. Renee Gonzalez (Long Valley, N.J.) finished the game with nine saves, while Kelly Moran (Newfields, N.H.) led the way with a program-record 10 draw controls.

The River Hawks look to earn their first win against UMBC, heading into the matchup with a 0-4 all-time record against their opponent. Last season, UMass Lowell fell by a narrow, 9-7 margin with goals by Finelli, Cameron McKelvin (Westminster, Md.), Rebecca Idson (East Atlantic Beach, N.Y.) and Hana Caster (North Attleboro, Mass.).

Senior Day

On Senior Day, they combined for 11 goals, six assists, six ground balls, five caused turnovers and 12 draw controls.

America East Picture
Stony Brook remains the only undefeated team in America East with a 5-0 record, while New Hampshire and UAlbany are both 4-1. MacEachern is in the top six in the conference in points and goals per game, while Keith is third in shots per game and Finelli is eighth in assists per game. Caster is sixth in America East in caused turnovers per game with 1.40.

Controlling the Draw
Kelly Moran (Exeter, N.H.) and Caster are second and sixth in America East in draw controls with 5.00 and 3.73 per game, respectively. Moran is in the top 50 in the country in draw controls per game, as well.

Weekly Awards
Caster was named America East Defensive Player of the Week on March 11 after notching seven draw controls, six ground balls and eight caused turnovers through two games. Renee Gonzalez (Long Valley, N.J.) took home weekly defensive honors on March 4, while Keith earned AE Offensive Player of the Week after a program-record, seven-goal game.

Win Streak
UMass Lowell notched a three-game win streak from Feb. 27 through March 5, with victories against Holy Cross, Iona and Merrimack. That was the longest win streak since the River Hawks won six straight in March of 2017.

They now have 150 on the season (10.0 per game). Eleven different River Hawks have scored goals this season, while 12 have tallied at least one point.

M&M
MacEachern and McKelvin have been offensive powerhouses this season. McKelvin had five goals at Fresno State, while MacEachern had six goals against Boston University a week later. MacEachern surpassed her 2018 goal total in just the first three games in 2019 and now has 38 goals on the season, which leads the team. McKelvin has scored 27 goals on just 43 shots for a team-high .628 shot percentage (sixth in the nation). Both McKelvin and MacEachern are now on the top-10 all-time goals list at UMass Lowell.
