SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: The River Hawks have posted a 4-7 overall record (1-2 AE), after a 14-11 loss at Hartford last Saturday. The River Hawks currently sit in fifth place in the America East standings. UMass Lowell owns a 2-3 home record in five home contests so far this season. UMass Lowell ranks seventh in the nation in man-up offense a 44.8% (13-for-29) on the season.

Senior midfielder Cory Highfield (Georgetown, Ont.) leads the team with a career-high 30 points (16g,14a), while sophomore attackman Jake Lining (Rochester, Mich.) has posted a career-high 16 goals to lead the River Hawks' roster. Junior attackman Dan Cozzi (Reading, Mass.) leads the team with 21 assists in eight games. A total of four River Hawks have scored 10+ goals in 2019, including Highfield, Lining, William Russo (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) with 11 and Domenic Giachello (Somers, Conn.) with 10, both of which are new career-highs, respectively.

Senior goalie Grant Lardieri (Ada, Mich.) has started nine of 11 contests for the River Hawks, posting a 11.94 GAA and .508 save percentage, to go along with a 3-6 mark. He has made 10+ saves in four of his last six starts for UMass Lowell.

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES: Stony Brook owns a 6-5 overall record (2-1 AE), after a 1-1 week with a 14-4 loss to Princeton and a 12-11 win at St. John's. The Seawolves own a 3-1 record at the road so far this season. Tom Haun leads the Stony Brook roster with 23 goals and 31 assists in 11 contests so far this season.

LAST TIME OUT: Sophomore attackman Domenic Giachello (Somers, Conn.) scored a career-high four goals for the UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse team as they fell at Hartford, 14-11 in America East play on Saturday afternoon at Al-Marzook Field. The contest was a back-and-forth affair as the River Hawks cut Hartford's lead to one goal on six occasions in the game. Giachello scored three of his four goals in the first half, to go along with nine total shots. Senior Cory Highfield (Georgetown, Ont.) added two goals. while Isaac Bot (Calgary, Alta.) and Dan Cozzi (Reading, Mass.) also scored goals for the River Hawks. Senior midfielder Cliff Kurker (Needham, Mass.) added his first career goal for UMass Lowell at 8:18 of the third quarter. UMass Lowell owned a 13-4 shot advantage in the fourth quarter against the Hawks. Hartford held a 6-5 lead at halftime against UMass Lowell. Senior goalie Grant Lardieri (Ada, Mich.) recorded 13 saves in the losing effort for the River Hawks, while Hartford's Cam Logan finished with 10 stops for his second win of the season. Freshman face-off midfielder Liam McDonough (Groton, Conn.) added a team-high nine face-off wins, five ground balls and a goal for the River Hawks.  Hartford's Ty Thompson finished with a game-high six points (2g,4a), while Christian Paley and Owen Trepeta each totaled three goals apiece in the win. 

AMERICA EAST LEADERS: Dan Cozzi ranks second in America East with 2.6 assists per contest and his 3.3 points per game ranks fifth in the league. Liam McDonough's (Groton, Mass.) 7.1 ground balls per contests ranks first among AE players. Eric Flynn's (Bedford, N.H.) 2.0 caused turnovers per game is second among America East players and his 3.8 ground balls is the fifth best total in the league. Cam Hult ranks sixth in the conference with 3.6 ground balls per game and his 1.3 caused turnovers per game ranks seventh. 

DID YOU KNOW?: Liam McDonough with eight ground balls at St. John's on March 23rd broke the program's single-season ground ball record set by Will Puduski (70) in 2018. McDonough has amassed a team-high 78 ground balls in his freshman season. The River Hawks will honor their nine-member Senior Class in a pre-game ceremony on Friday, April 26th against Binghamton (7:30pm) at Cushing Field Complex.
