First Pitch
The UMass Lowell baseball team is set for back-to-back game days with a home matchup with Rhode Island, before going on the road to take on UConn on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. The River Hawks and Rams have not met since 2015, with Rhode Island holding a 3-1 edge in the series. UConn leads the all-time series 6-1 following a 14-7 victory in last season's meeting.

In the win against Marist, eight River Hawk pitchers combined to not allow a walk. This marks the first time that the opposing team has not recorded a free pass against UMass Lowell pitchers since May 19, 2018 against Stony Brook, a run of 24 games. The River Hawk hurlers accomplished the feat twice in 2018 and six times at the Division I era.
To The Fifth Power
In the series win at UMBC, UMass Lowell outscored the Retrievers 10-0 in the fifth innings. In the first two contests, the River Hawks were up 3-2 and tied 2-2, before scoring five and four runs in the fifth inning, respectively.

Michael Young was named the America East Player of the Week on March 26. Including a 5-5 day at the plate in the River Hawks' second win of the series, Young recorded a 1.167 slugging percentage, four runs and drove in a pair.

Sophomore
Vinnie Martin led UMass Lowell at the plate in the George Washington series, picking up six hits, six runs and drove in six runs. Martin also connected on two home runs and recorded five RBI in the River Hawks' 12-1 victory on March 9. He was named the America East Player of the Week, as well.

Last season, on April 21, in the win against Maine, UMass Lowell suffered only the second no-hitter in program history, with the first came in the opening game of 1977, snapping a streak of 1,730 straight games with at least one hit. The River Hawks have a current streak of 44 games with a hit since.

Last season, UMass Lowell played in 16 one-run games, including 10 consecutive straight from March 16-31, marking the longest stretch in the nation. The River Hawks went 8-9 in such games in 2018.
