River Hawks hit the road for games at Dartmouth and Manhattan

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: UMass Lowell enters the week with a 1-2 overall record, after a 16-15 overtime loss to Siena in its last game on February 23rd. The River Hawks will begin a four-game road trip on Tuesday at Dartmouth, after playing its first three games of the year in the friendly confines of Cushing Field Complex. Cory Highfield leads the team with 12 points and six goals on the season, while Dan Cozzi leads the River Hawks' roster with nine assists.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN: Dartmouth also owns a 1-2 overall record, as the Big Green picked up an 11-4 win against Wagner this past Saturday. George Prince and Ben Martin each recorded three goals in the Dartmouth victory, while goalie Daniel Hincks notched 11 stops in the victory. Martin leads the team this season with 11 points (6g,5a).

SCOUTING THE JASPERS: Manhattan is 3-2 overall this season with a 2-1 home record at Gaelic Park. The Jaspers are coming off a 9-8 win at Bryant on Saturday. Brandon Grinnell totaled a game-high four points (2g,2a) for the Jaspers, while Brendan Krebs totaled eight saves in the victory. Sean MacKinney leads the Jaspers with 11 points and eight goals so far this season.

LAST TIME OUT: Senior Cory Highfield (Georgetown, Ont.) and junior attackman Brandon Beland (Granite Bay, Calif.) registered a career-high six and five points, respectively for the UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse in the 16-15 overtime loss to Siena on Saturday afternoon at Cushing Field Complex. Siena scored 11 goals in the second half, which included six tallies in the fourth quarter.  Highfield notched a career-six five points in the first half, which included three goals in the 1st quarter alone. Beland recorded four goals, which included two in each the first and second halves. Jake Lining (Rochester, Mich.) added four points (3g,1a) in the game, while Dan Cozzi (Reading, Mass.) totaled four assists. Domenic Giachello (Somers, Conn.) amassed four points (2g,2a) in the loss for UMass Lowell. Freshman goalie Matt Murakami (Long Grove, Ill.) totaled 14 saves in his first collegiate start for the River Hawks. Siena's Aaron Lewis stopped 13 shots in his first victory of the season for the Saints. The River Hawks recorded 35 of 51 shots in the first half of action against the Saints. UMass Lowell owned a 10-4 lead at the half, after scoring the first five goals in the contest.  Mike Reilly and Keenan Cook each notched a game-high six points (4g,2a) in the Saints' win.

AMERICA EAST LEADERS: Dan Cozzi leads America East with 3.0 assists per game, while Highfield ranks third in helpers at 2.0 per contest. Lining ranks sixth among conference players with 2.3 goals per game and Highfield's 2.0 goals per contest is 10th in the league. Highfield's 4.0 points per game is third best among America East players and Cozzi's 3.3 points per contest is sixth best. Liam McDonough (Groton, Mass.) leads the conference with 8.0 ground balls per game and Eric Flynn's (Bedford, N.H.) 2.0 caused turnovers per game is the third best total in the conference.
