STORRS, Conn. –
After a week off from competition, the UMass Lowell softball team (10-12) is rested and ready to begin a four-game week. The squad will first visit UConn for some mid-week action on Wednesday before taking to River View Field for the first time this season against Maine to open the America East Conference schedule with a three game series on Saturday-Sunday, March 30-31.

LAST TIME OUT
A perfect 7-for-7 effort at the plate from junior Courtney Cashman (Danvers, Mass.) propelled UMass Lowell to sweep a doubleheader at Yale on March 19. The River Hawks combined for 22 hits and 16 runs scored on the day to pick up a 7-3 victory in game one and a 9-1 decision in five innings in game two. Senior Sydney Barker (Upland, Calif.) added to the offense, batting .571 with two home runs and three RBI. Senior pitcher Kaysee Talcik (Shelton, Conn.) recorded six strikeouts in the game one win, while sophomore Lovina Capria (Deltona, Fla.) did not allow an earned run in game two.

Sydney Barker, who is batting .383, adds 13 RBI, as well, and redshirt-junior Casey Harding (Cheshire, Conn.) chips in with 12 runs scored. Lovina Capria paces the pitching staff with a 6-5 record, a 2.37 ERA and 38 strikeouts.
