LOWELL, Mass. -- Senior goaltender Tyler Wall (Leamington, Ont.) of the No. 15 ranked UMass Lowell Hockey team was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for November, which was announced by the conference office on Thursday morning.

Wall, who is a candidate for the Mike Richter Award, given annually to the top NCAA goaltender, amassed 250 saves on 264 shots (.947 sv%) in the 5-1-2 month for the River Hawks. He posted a 1.71 GAA with one shutout in the month, along with a .750 winning percentage. Wall's 1.71 GAA and .947 save percentage both ranked second among Hockey East goaltenders in the month and his 250 saves in the month were the fourth most of any league netminder. He registered 30+ saves in five of eight starts in the month and allowed two goals or fewer in six of those starts. Wall went 3-1-2 in the month in six games decided by one goal or less.

"Tyler had an outstanding stretch of hockey in November," said UMass Lowell Head Coach Norm Bazin. "He is everything you ask for in a goalie. He gives you a chance to be in every game and also gives the team confidence on offense by making a big save at a crucial time. He is very deserving of the Hockey East Goalie of the Month Award."

Wall has posted a 9-2-4 in 15 starts in his senior campaign for the River Hawks with a 1.62 GAA and a .947 save percentage to go along with two shutouts. His .947 save percentage ranks fourth nationally and his 1.62 GAA is seventh best among NCAA netminders. He has totaled 30+ saves in nine of his 15 starts and allowed two goals or fewer in 12 contests for UMass Lowell. His 169 saves in the third period and overtime rank second in the nation among Div. I goaltenders. Three of Wall's nine wins have come against nationally ranked opponents (Minnesota Duluth, Providence, Penn State).

Wall has been named Defensive Player of the Week five of the first nine weeks to start the season, which included two weekly honors in the month of November.

It's the third time in his UMass Lowell career that he has been bestowed the honor, he also won the award his freshman year in 2016-17 in the month of February and March.

UMass Lowell returns to action on Friday, December 6th at Providence College. Game time from Schneider Arena is 7:15 pm. The game will be streamed nationally and internationally via CBS All-Access.
