River Hawks Take On Vermont in Saturday Afternoon Tilt

LOWELL, Mass. – After suffering the consecutive losses for the first time in over a year, the UMass Lowell men's soccer team looks to bounce back with a contest at Vermont on Saturday afternoon.

The River Hawks fell on Homecoming, 4-0, to No. 15 New Hampshire their last time out on October 19.

RIVER HAWK LEADERS
Stanley Alves (Minas Gerais, Brazil) paces the lineup with his three goals and eight points, and is one of four players with two or more assists. Roko Prsa (Sisak, Croatia) amd Alejandro Osorio (Hollywood, Fla.) have scored a pair as well, while Renato Kauzlaric (Zagreb, Croatia) has helped facilitate the offense with his four helpers. Between the pipes, Patrik Gujic has 18 saves and an 0.97 GAA.

FIRST GOAL WINS
The River Hawks are 40-1-4 since September 13, 2015 when scoring first. The lone setback came during the 2018 season, a 2-1 loss to Holy Cross. 

SCOUTING VERMONT
- The Catamounts enter the weekend with a 8-5-0 mark and a 3-1-0 conference record
- Rasmus Tobinski paces the lineup with seven goals and 16 points, adding two assists
- Frosti Brynjolfsson and Jon arnar Barddal have each dished out four assists 
- In net, Aron Runarsson has made 11 starts and has 32 saves with a 1.03 GAA
- The River Hawks lead the all-time series, 2-1-3

KING OF THE NET
Patrik Gujic continued his program record consecutive shutout minutes streak with the win against Harvard, extending the mark to 492:20  The sophomore has now surpassed Bobby Ritter's consecutive minutes and Ritter's four consecutive shutout marks. 
 
I LIKE MY SHEETS CLEAN

The River Hawks consecutive shutout minutes program record ended at 506:32. The new mark surpassed the previous record by over 100 minutes (403:33) that the 2018 team set.

ROAD WARRIORS
The loss at UAlbany snapped UMass Lowell's four-game road winning streak. The River Hawks are now 4-2 away from Lowell in 2019. 

AGAINST THE CONFERENCE AT CUSHING
Since the end of the 2015 season, UMass Lowell is 13-2-1 against America East opponents at Cushing Field. The loss against New Hampshire was the River Hawks' first setback since the 2017 America East Championship game, and snapped the team's five-game streak. 

HOME, SWEET HOME
Over the last 32 games at Cushing Field, the hosts are 24-4-4 dating back to 2016, including a 1-1 mark in the postseason.The River Hawks are 33-11-5 in the Mill City since 2014.

ROLLING WITH RENATO
Renato Kauzlaric is one of five players in the conference with four assists. The sophomore has dished out six helpers in his young career with the River Hawks.

ROKO MEANS CLUTCH
Roko Prsa is tied for third in the league with two game-winning goals so far in 2019, and has recorded five in his UMass Lowell career.

HAWK THE VOTE
UMass Lowell has been ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll for 22 weeks since 2016.

NOTABLES
Mario Mora Perez (Liberia, Costa Rica) scored his first career goal at Massachusetts (9.21) ... Denis Petro (Michalovce, Slovakia) recorded his first collegiate point against Quinnipiac (9.2)and scored his goal at Merrimack (9.17) ... six players have made their UMass Lowell debuts in the first three contests of the season.
