LOWELL, Mass. – The River Hawks will look to continue their two-game win streak in America East play when they head to LaValle Stadium to take on the Stony Brook Seawolves in a 1 p.m. start time this Sunday afternoon.

LET'S REWIND…
Last week the River Hawks traveled to Orono, Maine. before returning to their home field for a matchup with the Retrievers.

In their 2-1 victory over Maine, redshirt sophomore Karah Fleet (Halifax, Nova Scotia) struck first for the River Hawks, while sophomore Hailey DuBose (Raynham, Mass.) found the back of the net with only five minutes remaining in the first half.

In their home tilt with UMBC, sophomore Kristina Bartsch (Pulheim, Germany) and freshman Stephanie Kemp (Mansfield, Mass.) each scored for the River Hawks in the 4-1 take-down, with Kemp recording her first collegiate hat-trick.

With the pair of wins over Maine and UMBC, the River Hawks will head into Sunday's matchup with a conference record of 2-1.

SCOUTING STONY BROOK
Coming into this week Stony Brook's current overall record is 9-4-0. The Seawolves have completed three conference games and currently sit at the top of America East with a 3-0 record. The squad's top scorer, Alyssa Francese leads the conference as well, with nine goals.

The last time the Seawolves and the River Hawks went head-to-head was in 2018 for the America East semifinals, where the River Hawks knocked off the top seeded Seawolves, 2-0.
The River Hawks will look to repeat their victory last year and improve their 2-7 series record with the Seawolves in Sunday afternoon's game.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
In an alumni celebration, the River Hawks will return home on October 17 to recognize 25 years of program history by honoring past players at 7 p.m.

25 YEARS STRONG
This season the team would like your help in celebrating 25 years of River Hawk Women's soccer. The goal is to have 125 donors, which marks the 125th year anniversary of the University, donate $25 dollars to celebrate the 25th season of women's soccer.

In the past, funds have been used for locker room renovations, enhancing the high-performance environment, and securing a more challenging out of conference schedule. The squad is at this point in history because of the previous 24 teams that have paved the way, and as they continue to build the program, they need your help! BUILDING ON A HISTORIC SEASON
The team secured their first-ever bid to the America East Tournament, making their way as far as the championship game. After a stand-out 2018 season by the 11-member freshman class, tallying 17 goals and 44 points, it's no wonder three of them garnered America-East All-Rookie team nominations. Emily Nelson (Peabody, Mass.), Dunja Mostarac (Belgrade, Serbia) and Bartsch, continue to strive in the 2019 season, with Bartsch tallying 15 shots and Mostarac recording five over the 11 games. Nelson continues her scoring streak from last year with four goals so far this season, increasing her career total to 11 goals and three assists for a total of 25 points.

HATS OFF
In Sunday afternoon's matchup with the Retrievers Kemp not only scored her first collegiate goal but went on to notch two more before the clock ran out, recording her first collegiate hat-trick. With the stellar three-goal performance Kemp is now second on the team in goals (3) and points (6).

EXTRA EXTRA
The River Hawks have competed in 11 contests this year with half of them ending in overtime minutes. Repeating the 2018 season, the squad has now brought five different teams into overtime for an average of 95 minutes per game.

FRESH FACES
The Freshman class continues to make strides with all eight of them recording shots over the past 11 games. Kemp, Cristina Blaya (Madrid, Spain.) and Anna Edson (Beverly, Mass.) all have recorded two or more shots on goal.
