Ryan Dmowski Named River Hawk of the Week

LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell hockey forward Ryan Dmowski (East Lyme, Conn.) has been named the River Hawks of the weeks after three goals and adding an assist as UMass Lowell took three out of four points against Boston College last weekend.

Dmowski's goal Friday at BC broke a 1-1 tie and proved to be the game winner as the River Hawks went on to a 3-1 win.  It was his third game winning goal in as many games and the tenth of his collegiate career.  The ten career game winners leads Hockey East and is third in the nation.

Dmowski followed that up Saturday at the Tsongas Center with two more goals.  The first helped to launch the UMass Lowell comeback after falling behind the Eagles, 3-1.  His second goal tied the game at four with 2:01 remaining on the clock.  The goal was his tenth of the year, eight have either given UMass Lowell the lead or tied the score.

The senior has scored goals in five consecutive games, the longest such streak since Joe Gambardella scored in five straight in 2017.  The last time any River Hawk scored in more than five straight was when Michael Murray scored goals in seven straight games during the 1991-92 season.

The hockey River Hawks are undefeated in their last seven and have moved into a fourth place tie in Hockey East.  That 6-0-1 stretch ties UMass Lowell with Bentley for the longest active undefeated streak in the country.

The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
