LOWELL, Mass. – A four-game winning streak has jumped the UMass Lowell men's soccer team to the number 15 spot in the country, as the River Hawks head out to California for matchups against the three-time defending national champions Stanford and fellow Pac 12 member California.Â

In the River Hawks' 2-0 week,
Roko Prsa (Zagreb, Croatia) registered his first two scores of the season in a 2-0 win at Harvard (including a SportsCenter Top 10 goal), and
Stanley Alves (Minas Gerais, Brasil) picked up his fourth tally of the season to cap off the 1-0 victory against Northeastern.Â

RIVER HAWK LEADERS
Alves still paces the team with four scores and eight points, with three game-winning goals, while
Roko Prsa (Zagreb, Croatia) is the only other River Hawk with multiple goals.
Renato Kauzlaric (Zagreb, Croatia) and
Mayele Malango (Kinshasa, Congo) have a pair of helpers. Between the pipes,
Zach Rowell (Haverhill, Mass.) is 5-0-1 with 11 saves and a 0.17 GAA, in addition to four shutouts.

HAWK THE VOTE
With the move up seven spots to No. 15, UMass Lowell has been ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll for 20 weeks since 2016. The River Hawks are also the top team in the Northeast poll for the second consecutive week.Â
I LIKE MY SHEETS CLEAN
During the victory against Northeastern, UMass Lowell surpassed the program's previous consecutive shutout minutes mark (380:08) and the streak stands at 387:21. Entering the week, the River Hawks are one of eight teams in the nation who have allowed one or fewer goals, and rank third with a team goals against average of 0.158. Rowell ranks fourth in the country in GAA and second in clean sheets.
SCOUTING STANFORD
The preseason No. 1 Cardinal (1-0-3) knocked off No. 16 San Francisco, 2-0, for its first win of the season and enter the matchup unranked, but received 60 votes in the latest poll. As the two goals against the Dons marked Stanford's largest offensive output of the season, three players have one score apiece, but Logan Panchot has a pair of assists. Derek Waldeck has one goal and one assist to lead the lineup with three points. Keeper Andrew Thomas has made all four starts with 14 saves and a 0.21 GAA.Â

This marks the first meeting between the two programs.

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA
The Golden Bears (3-1-1) enter the weekend following a scoreless draw against UC Riverside, and take on Delaware before facing the River Hawks. Shinya Kadono has more than half of Cal's nine scores, with five, and adds two assists for 12 points. In net, Drake Callender has made five starts, with a 0.95 GAA and 14 saves, with two shutouts.Â
Cal and UMass Lowell have never met before in men's soccer.

ON THE ROAD, AGAIN
A season after going 3-6-0 away from Lowell, the River Hawks are 2-0-1 in the road blues so far in the young 2018. Including this weekend, UMass Lowell has five road games remaining.

Over the last 20 games at Cushing Field, the hosts are 16-1-3 dating back to 2016. The River Hawks are 25-8-4 in the Mill City since 2014.
