LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell baseball team enters the final month of the season with a non-conference matchup down the road at Northeastern, set for 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
The River Hawks dropped two out of three games to Hartford on the weekend, and sits in third place among America East teams.
Russ Olive (Chelmsford, Mass.) moved up in the record book with his 12 home run, setting the new DI program single-season high.
Leading the Flock
Olive sits atop the lineup with his .361 average, 53 hits, 12 home runs, 11 doubles and is second with 31 RBI.
Colby Maiola (North Reading, Mass.) is batting .308, with 11 stolen bases and is tied with
Cam Climo (Billerica, Mass.) with 34 RBI. As a team, UMass Lowell has connected for 30 home runs and 326 hits. On the mound,
Luke Tomczyk (Chili, N.Y.) is posting a 2.42 ERA, with

Chelmsford Slugger
With his team-leading .707 slugging percentage, Olive sits 10th in the nation. He remains the highest ranked America East player and is the leader among New England schools. The junior is third in America East in batting average and leads the conference in homers, as well.

Ryan and Funaro picked up Pitcher and Co-Rookie of the Week (4.17) ... Olive earned America East Player of the Week honors (3.13) ... Funaro was named the AE Rookie of the Week (2.20).
Scouting Northeastern
The Huskies (26-13) have picked up victories in their last eight games and have not seen a loss since April 14, and have only one setback at home in 12 contests (April 11). Charlie McConnell is one of four batters with an average about .300 at .358, and he is tied for the team lead with 10 doubles. Jake Farrell has connected on six of Northeastern's 24 long balls and has driven in 39. Ryan Solomon also has six dingers. The pitching staff is led by Sean Mellen's nine wins, 57 strikeouts and 1.94 ERA. The Huskies are batting .285 with a team ERA of 5.26.
The River Hawks lead the all-time series, 4-2, but the Huskies have taken two of the last three meetings.
One-Two Punch
Entering the week,

Jack Riley are the top strikeout producers in the America East. Ryan has recorded 59, with Riley right behind him with 58 strikeouts.
No More No-No Streak
Last Saturday's no-hitter was only the second time in program history that the offense could not deliver a base knock. The first came in the opening game of 1977, snapping a streak of 1,730 straight games with at least one hit.
Home Run Trot
With 30 home runs already in 2018, the River Hawks are on pace to pass their previous DI high of 37 long balls, set last season. Six players have homered so far this season.
Break Out the Brooms
The sweep of UMBC was only the third clean sheet in a series for the River Hawks since joining the America East, and first in the Mill City. The previous two came at UMBC (2014) and at Hartford (2015).
