LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell baseball team concludes its eight-game homestand with a non-conference matchup against Boston College on Tuesday afternoon. The River Hawks have posted a 5-2 record so far in the stretch.

After the team's 14-7 setback to No. 24 UConn, the River Hawks took two out of three from Maine to move up to second place in the America East standings. The teams split the doubleheader, despite UMass Lowell getting no-hit in its win, and the hosts took the finale, 9-8. Ben Prada (Laurel, Md.) filled the stat sheet with four hits, two doubles, four runs, five RBI amd went 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts. The senior also scored the lone run in the no-hitter, earning walk and scoring on a wild pitch after stealing second and third. Russ Olive (Chelmsford, Mass.) homered and in drove in four runs in the series, becoming only the second player since UMass Lowell joined DI to reach double digit long balls in a single season.

Leading the Flock
Olive sits atop the lineup with his .380 average, 44 hits, 10 home runs, 10 doubles and is third with 27 RBI. Colby Maiola (North Reading, Mass.) is batting .310, with 10 stolen bases and is second overall with 28 RBI. Cam Climo (Billerica, Mass.) is now back atop the lineup with 32 runs driven in. As a team, UMass Lowell has connected for 25 home runs and 288 hits. On the mound, Luke Tomczyk (Chili, N.Y.) is posting a 2.57 ERA, with Connor Metelski (Wall Township, N.J.), Andrew Ryan (Rochester, Mass.) and Henry Funaro (Lowell, Mass.) pace the staff with three wins apiece. The top three strikeout leaders are Andrew Ryan (56), Jack Riley (55) and Henry Funaro (38). Nick Rand (Hyde Park, N.Y.) has picked up four saves, and Tomczyk earned a pair over the weekend. The River Hawks are batting .247 as a team, with a 5.45 ERA.

No More No-No Streak
Saturday's no-hitter was only the second time in program history that the offense could not deliver a base knock. The first came in the opening game of 1977, snapping a streak of 1,730 straight games with at least one hit.

Break Out the Brooms
The sweep of UMBC was only the third clean sheet in a series for the River Hawks since joining the America East, and first in the Mill City. The previous two came at UMBC (2014) and at Hartford (2015).

Award SZN
Ryan and Funaro picked up Pitcher and Co-Rookie of the Week (4.17) ... Olive earned America East Player of the Week honors (3.13) ... Funaro was named the AE Rookie of the Week (2.20).

Chelmsford Slugger
With his team leading .721 slugging percentage, Olive sits 17th in the nation. He remains the highest ranked America East player, and second among New England schools. The junior is second in America East in batting average and leads the conference in homers, as well.

Scouting Boston College
The Eagles (13-26) enter the matchup in the midst of a three-game skid, and have lost seven of their last eight. Chris Galland is batting .331 and has 26 stolen bases to lead the lineup. Jake Palomaki and Gian Martellini have both connected on a pair of homers, and pace the offense with 26 and 23 RBI, respectively. The pitching staff is led by Brian Rapp's 3.81 ERA and 66 strikeouts, and he is one of two hurlers with three wins in 2018. BC is batting .248 with a team ERA of 5.42.

The Eagles have taken both meetings in the series, including last year's 6-1 win.

One-Two Punch
Entering the week, Andrew Ryan and Jack Riley are the top strikeout producers in the America East. Ryan has recorded 56, with Riley right behind him with 55 strikeouts.

Colby Jack
UMass Lowell has connected on two grand slams over the last two seasons, both coming off the bat of Maiola.

Party of One
Following the River Hawks' 9-0 win against Gardner-Webb on March 13, UMass Lowell played in 10 consecutive one-run games from March 16-31, the longest stretch in the nation this year. The River Hawks are 4-6 in that stretch, and 5-7 in one-run decisions in 2018.

Home Run Trot
With 25 home runs already in 2018, the River Hawks are on pace to tie their DI high with 37 long balls, set last season. Olive is two home runs away from setting the DI program single-season mark.

Multitasking
The River Hawks have had 13 players record a total of 71 multi-hit games, as Olive leads the way with 17. The lineup has produced 37 multi-RBI games, with Climo pacing the team with 10.

Five Spot
Two River Hawks have recorded five RBI in a single game, after Maiola's performance at Dartmouth. Climo was the first to do it this season in the team's second game of the year.
