SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: UMass Lowell comes into Friday's America East finale owning a 7-6 overall record (3-2 AE) and currently sit in a tie for third place in the America East standings, along with No. 16 ranked Vermont. The River Hawks went 2-0 last week with a 9-8 double overtime win vs. Dartmouth on Tuesday and a 12-10 come from behind win against Hartford in AE play on Saturday at Cushing Field Complex. UMass Lowell is one of only three America East teams to have an above .500 record for the season. The River Hawks own a 3-3 road record so far in six contests away from Cushing Field Complex.
Senior attackman
Matt Balter (Albany, N.Y.) leads the team with a career-high 24 goals, while
Jon Phillips (Delta, B.C.) has tallied 22 goals, which ranks second on the River Hawks roster.
Sean Tyrrell (Calgary, Alta.) leads the River Hawks with a career-high in points (48) and assists (28). Tyrrell and
Austin Lane (Aurora, Ont.) have also amassed 20 goals of the season. It marks the first time since joining Div. I that the team has had four 20-goal scorers in the same season.
UMass Lowell has a team ranks second among America East teams with 36.2 shots and 22.9 shots on goal so far this season. The River Hawks also rank second in the conference with 6.8 assists per contest. The River Hawks lead America East with 8.7 caused turnovers per game and also rank second in America East with 34.5 ground balls per contest, which ranks fourth among Div. I teams. The River Hawks 50% conversion (13 for 26) with an extra man leads all America East teams.
SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES: Stony Brook enters the week with a 5-7 overall mark (3-1 AE) and are tied for first in the AE standings along with UAlbany. Stony Brook owns a 3-4 record at home this season. The Seawolves are coming off a 8-7 home win against Vermont last Saturday. SBU's Michael Bollinger notched 16 saves in net for his fourth victory of the season. Tom Haun and Chris Pickel, Jr. have each notched a team-leading 17 goals apiece, while Haun also leads the team with 28 points.Â

The River Hawks trailed 5-1 after the first quarter, but then came back with a five-goal second quarter. Hunter Braun (Hartland, Mich.) totaled 11 saves in this 11th consecutive start of the season.
WHAT'S AT STAKE: The River Hawks can clinch their first postseason berth in the America East playoffs with a victory on Friday night. UMass Lowell can also clinch a berth with a UMBC loss on Saturday against Hartford.Â
COZZI NAMED AMERICA EAST OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:Â Sophomore attackmanÂ
Daniel Cozzi (Reading, Mass.) of the UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse team was named America East Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, an announced by the conference office on Monday morning. Cozzi recorded nine points (3g,6a) in two victories for the River Hawks this past week, which included a Div. I record seven-point (2g,5a) effort in Saturday's 12-10 come from behind win against Hartford at home in America East play. He also posted a goal and an assist in Tueday's 9-8 double overtime victory against Dartmouth at Cushing Field Complex. He has played in all 13 games for the River Hawks and has posted a career-high 16 points (6g,10a) in his second season in Lowell.Â

ISAIAH CRUZ INTRODUCED AS NEWEST MEMBER OF THE TEAM AS PART OF TEAM IMPACT DRAFT DAY: UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse Head CoachÂ
Ed Stephenson officially welcomed 12-year old Isaiah Cruz (Lowell, Mass.) through a Team IMPACT Draft Day event on Wednesday evening at Costello Athletic Center. Cruz is currently the ninth match to be paired with the River Hawks thanks to the Boston-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing chronic illnesses. Isaiah is one of 30,000 patients in the United States living courageously with cystic fibrosis (CF), a disease predominantly diagnosed in children by the age of two.
"We've had a chance to get to know Isaiah in the last five weeks, and everyone is excited to officially draft him to the program," said Head CoachÂ
Ed Stephenson. "His enthusiasm and energy are contagious and he has already become a cherished member of the team."
BRAUN LEADS THE NATION IN SAVES AND SAVES PER GAME: Freshman goalie
Hunter Braun owns a 7-5 record on the season with a 10.63 GAA and a .583 save percentage with 169 saves in 11 starts for the River Hawks in his freshman campaign. His 14.1 saves per game leads the nation and his 169 saves is most of any Div. I goalie in the nation this season. His .583 save percentage ranks third among conference goalies.
EXTRA MAN OPPORTUNITIES:Â The River Hawks lead America East with a 50% EMO conversion rate (13Â for 26), which ranks eighth among NCAA Div. I teams.
Jon Phillips has scored eight of the 13 EMO goals (62%) for the River Hawks this season through 12 contests. Â

Sean Tyrrell's 2.2 assists per game ranks second in America East and his 3.7 points per game ranks fifth in the conference.
