LOWELL, Mass. -- Following a competitive weekend at Wake Forest, the UMass Lowell baseball team begins a three-game set in Lexington, Va., facing off against the VMI Keydets.
The River Hawks battled against the Demon Deacons, forcing a rubber game with a 5-3 victory on March 3, but could not keep pace in the series finale and fell 14-7.
John Polichetti (Atkinson, N.H.) drove in four on the weekend, and
Dan Cunico (Sandyston, N.J.) earned his first career win, allowing one run in 2.2 innings on Saturday.
Leading the Flock
Cam Climo (Billerica, Mass.) paces the offense with 10 RBI,
Colby Maiola (North Reading, Mass.) has 11 hits and three doubles.
