BRONX, N.Y. – The UMass Lowell softball team wraps up tournament play with four games at the Fordham Tournament this weekend, Saturday-Sunday, March 16-17.

The River Hawks will first square off against host Fordham at 1 p.m. on Friday before taking on Seton Hall in a neutral-site contest at 3:30 p.m. The team then plays two more games on Saturday against Holy Cross and Detroit Mercy at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., respectively.

LAST TIME OUT
The River Hawks were held without a win against a pair of tough, Power Five opponents at the Mississippi State Tournament from March 10-11. The team first faced an 11-0 setback against Big Ten foe Illinois in a game that included a two-hour rain delay on March 10. On March 11, the River Hawks dropped a hard-fought, 4-3 decision against the Fighting Ilini before falling to SEC member No. 23 Mississippi State twice (9-1, 11-0).

The River Hawks picked up a win in their first extra-innings game of 2018 against Saint Louis on Feb. 24. The team has a history of success in extras with a 7-4 record since 2016.

Although the River Hawks have 12 losses in 2018, many of them could have gone either way. Five of the team's losses have been decided by two runs or less.

WEEKLY AWARDSÂ
Sara Siteman was named America East Rookie of the Week on March 13, having led the team with a .444 on-base percentage with two hits and two walks at the Mississippi State Tournament.
Casey Harding received her first ever AE Player of the Week nod on Feb. 27 after boasting an impressive 1.221 OPS that included a .750 slugging percentage and a .471 on-base percentage at the LA Tech Invitational.
Kaysee Talcik earned the first America East Pitcher of the Week award of the 2018 season for her performance in four appearances at the Pediatric Cancer Invitational from Feb. 16-18. She led the pitching staff with a 3.00 ERA in 14 innings, totaling 15 strikeouts.
